Biden Will Receive The Leaders of Australia and Britain as Part of The AUKUS Pact

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will arrive in the US on Monday, where they will hold talks on the trilateral security partnership AUKUS with US President Joe Biden.

The negotiations will take place in the city of San Diego in California. The meeting will discuss new details of the treaty, created two years ago as part of efforts to counter China in the Indo-Pacific region.

A submarine of the US Pacific Fleet is planned to be visited during the leaders’ visit.

As part of the AUKUS military alliance agreements, Australia plans to use American and British technologies to build 8 nuclear submarines, the first of which is planned to be used in 2036.

Also, the agreement provides that the countries will share cyber intelligence, artificial intelligence technologies and other technical developments.

For the second time in history, the United States is ready to share with another state the secret technology of creating nuclear submarines. For the first time, this happened when the US government provided nuclear technology to an ally – Great Britain – in 1958.

The creation of AUKUS has angered France, as Australia has terminated an already signed contract with Paris for the supply of submarines worth €56 billion.
