Chile produced 36.8% of its electricity in March from non-conventional renewable sources, Chilean national energy commission CNE said in its latest renewables report.
In February, the share of non-conventional renewables in total electricity production was 39%.
March saw an 11.2% month-on-month increase in the total electricity production as the nation prepared for winter. Renewables produced 2,666 GWh gross, up by 5.0% month-on-month and an increase of 14.4% in annual terms.
Power production from conventional sources came at 4,579 GWh gross, 15.1% more than in February but down by 4.7% year-on-year.

The total net installed non-conventional renewable energy capacity in Chile rose to 12,176 MW from 11,992 in February. Non-conventional renewables make up 38.8% of the total net installed generation capacity in Chile, CNE said in its report for March.
